Amoxy-col antibiotic is a semi-synthetic penicillin with a large antimicrobial bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The range of signs includes: Corynebacterium spp., Streptococci, Bacillus anthracis, Clostridium spp., Brucella spp., Haemophilus spp., Staphylococci-producing non-penicillinase, Pasteurella spp., Salmonella spp., Moraxella spp., E. Coli, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Fusiformis, Bordetella spp., Diplococci, Micrococci and Sphaerophorus necrophore.

Bacterial activity is regulated by inhibition of the growth of cells. Excretion happens mainly by urine and bile, meaning that amoxycillin is also effective for the treatment of kidney and Salmonella infections in the intrahepatic pool tree. Colistin is a cyclic polypeptide antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect on selected Gram-negative bacteria.

Indications for the Amoxy-col Antibiotic

Amoxy-Col antibiotic is recommended for the prevention of gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections, urogenital infections, local inflammation and secondary bacterial infections during viral diseases in calves, pigs, lambs and poultry. The product is also recommended for infections caused by bacteria susceptible to colistin, in particular colibacillosis and salmonellosis.

Dosage and Administration

For oral administration via feed or drinking water.

Poultry;

100g to medicate 150 litres of water for 3-5 days

Calves, Lambs;

5 - 7.5g per 50kg bodyweight for 3-5 days

Pigs;

1 - 2g per 10kg bodyweight for 3-5 days

Contraindications

• Do not administer to newborns.
• Do not combine with other antibiotics like tetracyclines, macrolides, and lincosamides
• Do not prescribe to animals with serious renal dysfunction.
• May not use for the treatment of diseases caused by resistant micro-organisms.
• Do not prescribe to animal species not mentioned in the indications.
• May not use for the treatment of infections caused by staphylococci-producing penicillins.
• Do not include in layers that contain eggs for human consumption.
